  1. You want Michael Powell gone?? Do you have any idea how many jobs have been created by Powell’s. How many artists have gotten exposure, how many books, both of the right and left have been sold. Do you know that Powell’s carries more poetry than anyone in the NW. And you are sad because Colin Powell is gone. Give me a break!

    Michael Powell is an asshat that wants to legislate morality out of one side of his mouth and preach the virtues of “smaller, less intrusive government” out of the other. Typical, right wing, hypocritical ass. He’s made the FCC resemble the Thought Police even more than they already did.

  4. Ohhh…Condi Rice and Secretary of State. The main stabilizing force now out of the White House. Remind me again how Bush is going to reach out and unify the country? Maybe we can have Limbaugh or Hannity as the Press Secretary or something.

  7. Mover Mike, we’re talking about very different people. The MIchael Powell I wrote about is the son of Colin Powell, and fronts the FCC.

    As for Powell’s bookstore – I’m a big fan.
