Scott & Sarah got engaged this weekend on Orcas Island. Sounds like they had a nice trip up until the 14 hour, multi-delay ferry and car ride home. Congratulations both of you, we’re very excited.
In other news, there’s a possible traffic jam in next September when Scott & Sarah, Ross & Brandy, and Meghan & Troy plan to have their weddings. Please take an alternate route.
Our landlord finally stopped by and we hauled off the 5 dead appliances stored at our place. The squirrels were somewhat miffed by our moving stuff in the shed around, but they’re back to business hiding away walnuts. They filled up the fertilizer spreader, which is quite comical to see. The crook of the walnut tree itself is also packed full of the green skinned nuts.
Now we just have to wait for the new washing machine to arrive. Then life will be, well, it’ll be something like what we’d expect normal to be like.
I love burping tupperware.
Though I doubt its part of some great direct marketing scheme, I can’t help but feel that dog treats we’ve been giving Barley are trying to feed my desire for a Jetta TDI Wagon. There’s just something I can’t put my finger on…
Would it be so bizarre to think that someone is watching and pulling a lever somewhere that releases the dog treat box with something specific to each customer? Maybe those RFID tags are saying something about me that I’m not aware of. Regardless, if I even had clothes purchased recently, I’m sure my tags have given the lever puller little hope.
The 22nd was my 25th birthday. The day before we went to the Horsebrass pub and drank beers and played cards. Later, we had bread pudding and I opened presents. This year’s winner: Red Hot Chilli Pepper tickets from Scott. Sweet.

Today Michelle and I helped a friend move out of a bizarre living situation. It was probably one of the easiest moves, as it only took 3 quick van trips, so we were done by 1pm, then she bought us lunch. She’s going to be living on Belmont, surrounded by plenty of opportunities for fun. It sure beats waking up to your 50 year old roommate and her boyfriend doing it on the couch.
Later in the evening we went to a birthday party for another friend (and fellow Virgo) that, while being fun and entertaining, was just a facade for the boyfriend to have a fire in the backyard to burn up a stump that he’s been unable to remove by conventional means. It was some fire.
Remember getting scolded in school for waiting until the last minute to do your work? Well, teachers aren’t much different.
This was an absurdly busy weekend that was almost too much fun. My sister came down on Friday and joined us for our second annual trip to the Mt. Angel Oktoberfest. Great food, beer, music and crowds. Next we went to Saturday Market before having to give Hilary to another friend who lives in town. Scott and I went to the Organic Beer Festival at Port Halling in Gresham later that day. It was a cool event with a great vibe that helped prove to me that there are some top notch organic beers out there. I’ve got pictures of both events.
In effort to cleanse ourselves, Scott and I joined up with Ross for a 20 mile mt. bike ride on the McKenzie River Trail. It was a tremendous ride that nearly kicked our butts. It was the perfect day for it, and no one got grated like cheese on the lava rocks.
