Today I went to work at 6AM so we could upgrade our Spot server to Solaris 8, move it to a different server room, and add a 330GB storage array. Its gone fairly well so far, but we’re having trouble moving the WebCT partition to its own RAID5 unit. Now I want to go home, but can’t until i make sure WebCT works again.
In other news, I may finally be able to install Solaris for x86 onto an old PC at work.

I’d love to, but its been 12.25 hours since I arrived at work, and I just want to shut myself down.
The guy doing the upgrades refers to the computer, and all its individual processes by the masculine gender. “he’s done copying” or “he doesn’t like long names in symbolic links.”
For some reason its less confusing that referring to everything as “it.”
Maybe the guy knows something about “him” that you don’t know. I hope you get a nice long weekend to recover from “them.”
