Procedure Library for changing map scale
The
purpose of this procedure library is to explain how to change the map scale.
This is useful for displaying the data you feel most important, and not
including useless information.

Required: ArcView GIS,
Procedure:
1. Open ArcView, and project “ex12a” for this
example.
2. At the top right of the view on the toolbar is a box
that says “Scale 1: _________”.
3. Type a number in this box and hit return to see the
projection change.
4. If you want the scale to reflect just a certain theme,
select that theme in the table of contents.
5. Now click the zoom to selected button in the toolbar.
ArcView will select the most appropriate scale to display the theme you want to
be displayed.
