Procedure Library for Converting .e00 files to ArcView Shapefiles

The purpose of this procedure library is to discuss the conversion of .e00 ArcInfo transfer files to files usable by ArcView.

Procedure:

1. Locate the file. We will use canylk.e00 in this example. Place it in a folder named nwi2arc.

2. Open the Arc Import program Import71 from Start>Programs>ESRI>ArcView GIS 3.2>Import71.

3. When asked for the source file, browse for canylk.e00 in the nwi2arc folder. The program will refer to this as the Export Filename.

4. Put the new file name into the Output Data Source field, making sure the directory is the same as the source file. Name it nwicanyonlake and click OK.

5. Open ArcView and load the theme.
